24" Acylic Cube Build
#1
Well it's been a while since I have posted and decided to catch back up with the hobby. I've still be keeping darts but have been focusing more on my fish hobby. Over the past two years I have been building acrylic aquarium up to 1,000 gallons for people all over the US. I recently built a 24" cube acrylic reptile tank for someone and loved the way it turned out so now I've built one for myself. Below are some pictures of it as it sits empty. I plan constructing the habitat in 3-4 weeks after my little girl is born. Please feel free to leave any feedback as I've been contemplating building more to sell possibly on down the road.

I bought about six of those at a NARBC show in February. They are awesome! They were holding plants but now they're empty. I'm really curious to see what you do with yours. I have a idea but have to finish the current build.
Awesome man. Subscribed!

Now, back to what everyone on here is more interested in lol. Since my last post I found this really unique wood for vivariums, American Chestnut. It has really cool characteristics and a hard wood that won't rot. I've been playing with the wood placement all day but so far I think I'm going to stick to this.

I also started playing around with the placement of bromeliads.

Please feel free to leave any feedback, good or bad, on what you think so far. I'll be posting more in the next couple of days/ weeks

Thanks! It's a new wood I discovered that was suitable for vivariums, American Chesnut.

I had a great time today at the Repticon Baltimore show. I saw some beautiful frogs and plants!! Great selection all around and great vendors too. I ended up helping out Black Jungle today and picked up the rest of the plants I needed to finish this tank off. Made some slight changes as well so I hope you enjoy the teaser and I'll post more pictures tmw.

In my opinion, a 2' cube with full ground space is the bare minimal for a pair of large obligates. I would not attempt a 2.1 in something that small, especially with such little useable ground space.

So far they are doing okay. Slight aggression issues at first but now seems fine. Already found a jelly mass but no eggs. Lots of calling so I'm just going to leave them be unless I see something I should be concern with. The previous person had them in the same size tank with no issues. Thx for the words and will keep it in mind as I observe them

Hey Chris
Congrats on being a dad! Your little girl is beautiful. My princess just turned 1 yr last weekend. So she prefers the reef tank over frogs, but hope she enjoys them both in future.

Nice setup and hope eggs are around the corner for you : ) Are those Bilsa or Alto?

Actually they are neither. They are San Lorenzo. I have a 2.1 group

Thx, She loves my discus tank a lot and shows interest in the frog one when they call. She is growing up so fast though so I'm just enjoying everyday I can.
