Adults eating eggs
#1
This image made me do some thinking.

Are frogs cannibalistic? ... Do they eat the eggs because they look tasty and yummy to eat? Or are they doing it for the vitamins? Some animals eat their afterbirth to take in the nutrients that are expelled. Do frogs do this for the same reason? Could this issue be avoided by providing a certain type of supplement/vitamin or is this just a part of what happens?

Good question Kris,

It could easily be due in part to an attempt to acquire additional nutrients. That's a distinct possibility.

but my guess is, that it's a territorial / dominance thing, whereas a female seeks to suppress the eggs of another female.
