hey frank,
i've been looking at all the tanks you posted and they are really nice. what kind of wood did you use in the background of this one. i love it. reminds me a bit of the one cindy posted not too long ago. i'm definitely going to copy that style for the background on my next "waterfall" tank.

The petstore that sold me that driftwood had it labeled as "African Root." I have used it in lots of vivariums without any problems. I like it because it has lots of holes which helps to plant broms.

Thanks for the comment!
I left a space between the false bottom and the glass so it could be filled with rocks. I like the look of the rocks. I would only black it out if the egg crate false bottom were visable.

You said these pics are old - any chance of an update? Beautiful viv!

Well put them a coco hut and a petri dish in there and see if you get lucky......er.. um....I mean see if THEY get lucky!
Looks nice! Too bad you had problems with the plants...Add some leaf litter and it should make the tank look really nice.

Today I noticed some wrestling, one frog had the other pinned down pretty agresively. I didnt think galacts would fight. :?

If they are in the breeding mode, wrestling is possible.
Do you know what sex ratio you have?
Keep an eye on them to be sure the aggression does not escalate

I do not know the ratio. They all look the same in body shape and size except one. The one smaller one has always been smaller than the rest and is a bit lighter in color, and this is the frog that was getting pinned down the other day. However, this is the frog I see the most. He/she is always out and about, hunting for springtails or whatever.
All 6 were just out right now and eating, I got a good look at all of them, they all appear happy and healthy. Ill definately look for more agression or suffering animals.
Thanks for the tips.
Would you suggest the wrestling frogs are females?

Wrestling frogs could be males also in this case. Galacs are difficult to sex, but the males will be a little slimmer than the females.

I tossed some film cannisters in the viv and found some eggs in one soon after. I doubt they are good, but at least I know I have a pair in there!

That's great! Galac eggs are white/light grey, so until you are sure they are bad, don't throw them out.

Hey. I got the galactonotus from pumilio.com (Thomas Villeges)
The tank is made from Marineland. It came with an aquarium style lid. I really like working with these tanks!
Thanks for the comments!
