Here's a thread on how to post pics here....
Our pic sizes are set pretty much at 'huge' here on DD, so unless you have a poster-sized pic, you should be able to follow these directions and post: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=6101

You can also use the "Img" button to imbed an image tag to your post. Then paste your picture link within the tags and it will render the picture within your post instead of having to click on it. Use this toolbar in the full post (not quick post) UI:

make sure you have a glass lid covering at least 80% of the top of the viv.
Check the light fixture with your hand after it has been on for a while - too hot can raise the inside temps over 80F and cook your frogs and evaporate your humidity. Frogs are not corals or exotic flowers. Too much light will also cause them to hide a lot. Too much light / high light is...bad.

There isn't much light in the tank it has 8 bulbs which a nicely spaced and they are LED lights soo they aren't hot at all. I think the other light I had on my tank was too bright cause the frogs were hiding all day. It also has a nice nighttime blue light should I leave this on for them at night or go lights out?

srod Wrote:It also has a nice nighttime blue light should I leave this on for them at night or go lights out?I use blue LEDs as a transition at night so the frogs are not plunged into darkness right away. The frogs seem to like the subdued lighting - they use the 30 to 60 minutes of blue lighting to track down extra food and the males call a lot during that period as well. For my shier frogs I've been using upside down fern (Arachniodes standishii) which is a slow grower but throws some nice fronds that provide lots of shading / dappled lighting and foraging space underneath. Big old magnolia leaf litter is nice for that too while you are waiting for the canopy to fill in. I have different issues though - I keep big old frogs that smash stuff, so they influence what plants I keep

I decided to take this little guy out of the viv and place him in a plastic container to make sure he is getting food he's the smallest frog I have. Should I place the plastic container in the viv for temporary or just leave it out? I've put some paper towel sphagnum moss and a couple of leaves and misted them in the container before adding him too it will this be good for him for a while?

How about a picture of the container.. how old is the frog?
I would add some springtails and more leaves, is the viv seeded with springtails and isopods? I am assuming you have other frogs in the viv, right?

It's a small container I'm not sure how old the frog it it's a thumbnail quite small compared to the others ... The big viv is seeded and booming with sprint ails and has some ispods
