T12s vs T5HO.

Which uses more juice, thus, more costly to use ? Is it a substantial ammount ?

A T5HO tube uses a bit more power than a T12, but also puts out double the amount of light.

Quick examples:
T5HO, 46" uses 54 watts and puts out 4,750 lumens

T12, 48" uses 40 watts and puts out 2,325 lumens

To equal the light output of a single 54 watt T5HO you would need 80 watts of T12 lighting.
