It makes me sad every time I see that tank.

Before it was a stingray tank it looked like this...

That was a beautiful reef. The viv is impressive but maybe it warranted another addition to the house instead of trashin the reef Wink. I can't imagine what the electric bills were for running that filtration system and the lighting. The planning, expense and commitment reminds me of that 50000 gallon tank build on monsterfishkeeper. He floated around in a dingy doing tank maintenance, drilled wells for water...

I''d have to bust out my 300 mm lens to get some good frog pics in a viv that big. There is something to be said for the intimacy of a viv at a smaller scale (provided it is sized adequately for the animals). It's nice to be able to get close to a bold frog and observe them - or watch them observe you.

I am sure the upkeep now is 100 times easier.

but with a tank that big do you think you could squeeze in 2 proven pairs of pumilio?

Would you ever find them again? Smile

I chuckled when he "dumped 2000 crickets in at once." Talk about massive scales.

My question is: What does this guy do for a living?! Both those set ups had to of been massively expensive, and taken a considerable amount of time to accomplish!

I do excavation, demolition and retaining walls for a living so the summer time is hectic. Quick Updates...

man, this is really inspirational. It really has my brain going right now. I think ill start looking into making a custom 8' x 5' x 5' paludarium. Im thinking maybe 3-4" water in the front, with a lake type feature with a very easy exit from the water. Maybe a shallow stream running from a top corner of the tank oxbowing to the lake. Hahah the creative juices are flowing, but in all honesty i still have to finish my 40 gal breeder and then another viv for my imi froglets which are growing faster than i remembered them growing lol. Gees so much stuff and so little time! There will be a day though!!!!!
