community tadpole tubs?

Are there certain darts that can have community tadpole tubs? I've seen vivs with little pools in them can we mimic this outside of the viv? I currently have thumbnails and am raising my tads in shot glasses that i have not being used. Just looking for ways to make it easier on my wife while im deployed. We currently have 2 in the viv being raised by the parents and 5 out of the viv.

I was never a big thumbnail guy so maybe others can chime in here. Why not just let them breed in the tank. Would be easier.
