Frog room construction
#1
I am redoing my basement to be my frog room and have to move all of my tanks downstairs.  Really just ran out of room and it takes up too much space and we have an empty basement so I figured let's really do this right.  for now I'm going to have one wall of tanks and then several other tanks on other walls.  I might move my snake rack down in the basement as well but they have different temperature requirements and do pretty well upstairs where most the heat goes so I might let my kids keep them.  Here are some of the construction pictures if you are interested I can share how I made the joints it was pretty easy to build and everything comes out square.  All constructed with 2x4s minor sanding and planning and krylon black acrylic paint.  The valence at the top which is very difficult to see in these pictures I'll post more when the frog room is done was done with spray paint.

The top row will contain 2 36x36 exoterra and 1 36x36 chameleon screen home. The bottom shelf will have two 18x18x24, 1 36x18x24, a 24x18x24. The rack on the right has space for a dual 8x8 tank for a tarantula and some morning geckos, and 18x18-24 for some oophaga pumilo, followed with a 24 by 18 by 18 tank on the right hand side in the middle space. The open section in the middle is where I will install all misting utilities and power outlets. Space directly to the right has a window and that will be the area where I can propagate plants. which leaves one open space at the top right which may be I'll put all my fruit fly cultures, or add an 24x18x24 tank.

One more view.  Final steps, valences for the other tank tops, shelf liner for the false bottoms, and a cabinet door for the missing area. Noticed a small leak in one tank so I'll have to rip it out and seal again.

It’s really going to be impressive! I pulled a muscle just thinking about carrying those tanks down a flight of stairs.
