Some misc pics from my 2009 trip. I'll add a few every so many days....

If you ever get to go to Costa Rica....and are near the North / Central area.....this is a must go.

The Student lodging is spartan, utilitarian if not comfortable.

The view is the front. The rear of the unit is.....pure jungle. I stayed in the "ant" room - Zompopa

Looks a little like North Carolina or some other U.S place...but it's not.....not when you see the wildlife.

I was there in 09. We were travelling from Tortuguero to Arenel and our driver was kind enough to drop us off there for a couple hours so I could take the tour. It was really cool. Just my wife and I and another couple with a tour guide armed with a pretty powerful monocular and a tripod. I have some really cool pictures of a bridge we crossed and of some pumilio we saw hopping around. We also talked with some students who were there studying ant behaviors. I almost got nailed by a bullet ant. I learned real quick to watch where I put my hands! The tour guide had an amazing eye. He was spotting things in the trees that we would have never seen. The only thing we never found was any snakes. I was really hoping to see some snakes :'(
If I'm ever back in Costa Rica I will be sure to visit again. I would have liked to have spent at least an entire day there.
