Yes. It can be placed on shagnum moss and wood. I wouldn't initally put it up to high it likes to be moist.
I have riccia moss, java moss and tropical moss in my tank. They are all doing well, but I think the riccia is my favorite. It grows in to make a beautiful green carpet. I had a harder time finding it than the others though! You just have to spray every day to keep it wet. Fran
