If you plan on being active in the Dart Frog Hobby Community or wish to buy Dart Frogs or supplies, sooner or later everyone finds it helpful to know a City that you live nearby - inorder to see if you are close enough for cheaper, faster shipping.

It's also SO much easier when looking for Fruit Flies or emergency feeder insects, when you post an ad asking for someone to quickly help you out, when (not IF) you have a crash.

And for Privacy concerns, You don't even have to put the actual location of the City that you really live in, just use one that is close-by and preferably larger and well known.

I've seen this assist hundreds of hobbyists. City locations in profiles do help.

Another good reason to put a City / State location in your profile, is that you are more likely to seem like a real person and not a bot or spammer.....or worse.

When you post a tiny bit of "real person" info in your profile - location and possibly a unique signature or cool looking Avatar ,then you become a real person and members are more likely to treat you as such. It's a much better experience overall.

Quite a few new people joining up, seems like 2-3 every other day or so.....good things. Good things.

Try to "personalize" your Profile. Get into your CP and add a sig line, location, avatar ect. The Forum is so much more fun that way, and we will know you're a real person investing into the community.

If anyone needs help filling out their profile....making an Avatar.....location / city state info. Please let me know.

Or even a country ! We have a lot of U.K guys and a few Euro-froggers.

Please put a location in your profile.

Empty profiles, no avatars or locations....makes us sad.

Dart Den has a mandatory 'location' field in the member registration block. Now, people can fudge or even lie, but the point is that I really feel that a nearby location or at least the State you live in is actually very important.

I think it would be cool to see a heat map distribution of dart frog owners

yeah but gotta be careful on Maps. People get scared when they are 'put' on maps.

Also scared of submitting location data.

We kinda walk a fine line here.

No map and I won't put a city. My work creates malcontents that I don't want to advertise freely to.
