it's at the top of the State but close enough to Dallas for Frog transfers ect, right ?

I saw a post where someone from there complained that there "are no froggers nearby".

Texas is in the top 10-12 states for number of Dart Frog hobbyists, I would guess. I think he was just making an excuse.

I agree, just another troll looking to start a fight and get some attention. Hopefully I don't get an infwaction for using the "T" word here too.

You are a dangerous desperado, Tony - insulting members on other forums. I'll have to keep my eye on you here
Wichita Falls is about a 1 1/2 hr drive from Dallas. That member also attends our meetings so he doesn't need any help finding us. I think he's bitching about other froggers in town.
yeah that guy is close he even came to beths meet and purchased frogs from JubJub
Ok...someone told me to check out the "125 gallon beauty viv" over there......

I'm not as much disappointed by some of the ignorance - we were all beginners at some point...

Nor am I upset with the thread itself - celebration of anything is ok AS LONG as you are prepared to engage in discussion about it. These forums are not just "picture pages" - unless you post ONLY a pic in the appropriate forum.

What I AM disappointed in, is the false information that Texas doesn't have any froggers.
Can you shoot me the link in a PM? I haven't see it yet.
Phil,
Magnolia is down around Houston.

Texas has froggers, not all of them frequent forums.
I know Texas has Froggers. At first, years ago, I really did think that Beth may be the only one (heh) but after asking around and doing a lot of market research, I happen to know for a fact, that Texas is well represented with Froggers.

Now I know Texas is a big state and the southern part may as well be a Mexican Desert ,but the middle and upper part of the state is fairly easy to traverse and get around, right? There are some medium sized Reptile shows with Dart Frogs right? Meets and gatherings are starting to happen - the last one at Beth's house, correct ?
Texas is a BIG state. What other state can you travel for 15 hours and still be in the same state?
Admittedly most folks live in the triangle ( DFW, Austin, Houston) and this is the area that most of the herp shows are because of this.

Yes the last meet was at Beth's house, the next one will be at my place in October.

And hell yes Texas is huge! And a good amount of frogs and froggers to be found, a lot more then my home state of Wisconsin. If I still lived there I would not have found this hobby!

Casper
Like Cindy said there are many individuals in TX that have frogs, when I sent out e-mails about the meet I had 18 wanting to come.
As far as guppygal and the mixed tank, glad she made it public, the Texas frog community definately knows who NOT to buy frogs from.

Wierd how on the thread on DB he said we did not have many frogs at the meet, I had 12 s/s leuc froglets and a few banded froglets along with Tim's frogs plus John and Casper brought frogs.

Can someone just post the link here for everyone? I didn't find it right away and I'm always interested in reading what the communtity finds acceptable these days. Hint, it ain't getting any better in many cases...
I don't think more than 10% of the peeps over there think it's acceptable.

It's under "Member's Frogs & Vivariums".....about 12 threads down ...

Entitled "150 gallon planted and occupied"

Thanks, looks and sounds as if you've found Jellyman's mate.

Perhaps a long distance relationship.....

I forgot to mention Texans and others now know who NOT to sell frogs to as well.
She does not even know (after 4 or more whole years of dart experience) that ;
1. Big frogs will lay on leaves.
2. There is ALWAYS food for tads in a big tank.
3. ANY and all dart species can , will, and have produced in-viv froglets in well set-up vivs ( see my grannies breeding in a 15 gallon as a surprise!!!)
4. Her post would cause a shi t-storm...hmmm
5. I'm sure there's more, but I'm certainly not wasting my time reading the rest of her nuttiness. Kind of like someone stating that he won't get froglet hybrids from his mixed tank of vents and variabilis (didn't even know how to spell variabilis...) because he has over 20 years of herp not dart expereince, and he will constantly watch for breeding...SURPRISE! ...WTF?
