I was not aware that CR was allowing exports of Granuliferus, Black Jeans, and Blue Jeans. I guess these are more "research projects."

No links please.....just add a bit more info here Craig, and we can all just have the conversation here.

plus...I would like to find a way to NOT give him any free advertising.

Good point Phil. A recent import of Black Jeans, Blue Jeans and Granuliferous just happened and the frogs are being listed for sale. What's so confusing is that they are CR frogs. Anyone know if any authorized exports from CR lately?

This happened once before recently. NYC circa 2009. @ 50 adult sexed Sarapaqui blue jeans pumilio arriving with 'paperwork from the E.U'

How about Justin from Texas starts digging an doing research on this. Let's post scans of the documents for this. I would also like to see what country of export - I presume Germany.

Costa Rica isn't open. Unless they came from Brian Kubicki via UE (they didn't) then they are the same as other "research" animals...

There are a number of ways and a number of people who can absolutely export CR darts directly from CR... for commercial gain.
I have no idea yet who these came from, but I do know the full legal processes. The processes are very specific, and VERY limited.

Hopefully these frogs weren't in his possesion long enough to pick up his standard load of heavy parasites.

I'd have no hesitation getting frogs from Rich or many other people, for example.

Conversely, there are 2-3 people that I would not patronize....ever.

The choice is yours. Make it an....informed.....choice.

Shouldn't one of the first questions asked of a potential seller be "Are these frogs legal to possess?"

Just noticed these are now being id'd as Euro F1's...

I would tend to think that Euro F1's means Euro-washed smuggled frogs. After all, these obligates are all highly sought after in EU and command a higher price than they are being sold for here, couple that with most EU's feelings about the US and then tell me again that they are legit f1's from EU...obviously there is something fishy about these...too bad they look very nice, but I can't bring myself to support this kind of nonsense

This flipper isn't truthful about the health of his frogs, do you think he's gonna be truthful about their legality? Guess again!!

This would all be a non issue if 99% of hobbyists had morals and a conscious. If they did people like this wouldn't have anyone to sell to.

The right way to settle this is for the OP/Vendor/Seller/Re-seller/Flipper to provide the documentation upfront on THEIR end.

With 'rare' (hobby) frogs comes more ethical requirements. You want to deal in the rare stuff ? Take (shoulder) the (extra) weight.

Well obviously that would be the ideal situation but that won't happen. Not only that but even providing CITES papers at this point isn't enough because they can be forged. Going straight to the source would give us our answers. If they turn out to be illegal then everyone will know and hopefully stay away from them.
