Since you asked,
When I get back into the larger, rarer Obligates...I intend to use a corner 'spot light' or puck UVB fixture @ 2-3 times per week at no more than 15-20min intervals. I refer to that as 'infrequent' UVB lighting. Maybe there is another way to say it.
I also have a few correspondences from newer hobbyists who were wishing to use a UVB light alongside their regular lighting as an every day type thing, and I feel that's too much.
What frequency would you suggest ?

In all seriousness, I appreciate your answer that you based on your experience. I cannot suggest a frequency. Although like you, I do believe frogs shouldn't be exposed to a large amount of constant UVB. I do have a viv that has a UVB bulb that is in all day long. The bulb is a ZooMed 5.0. I have seen no detrimental effects as of yet. The frogs in this viv are not exposed to this UVB all day long, because it is only one bulb and the bulb is shining thru a single "window".
I have never heard of a frog being exposed to excessive UVB in captivity. The UVB bulbs most commonly used are not strong at all. Their more like UVB that you would experience under the shade of a tree.
