I am building a 150gal. viv., and our house temp fluctuates to much at night to day and inbetween.(65-75*)
kinda low i know. I want this thing to be perfect in every way, so i need to control temp.,between 75-86*. I looked @ lllreptile @ the helix system, it seems fair, but im not sure how it actually heats (it didnt specify) heat pad or someother means ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

65-75 is the range (for most Dart species) and temp swing all froggers should be shooting for. No heat pads needed.

The Helix system I have is retrostat you plug heat sources into them and they have a prob that sense the temp and adjusts the output. on/off.

What I think is important to point out is the fact the temp swings are at times just as important as temps themselves. Unless the thermostat is programable to swing from 65 to 75 day/night it goes against what is optimal.

The majority of thermostats have a temp setting that you can adjust manualy this being said it takes you remembering to change the temp so unless it's programable the tepm could possibly never change a constant tep of say 75 would not give the frogs optimal conditions.

As Rich said A room temp of 70-75 in the day time and a drop to say 65 at night would be fine so no heating is needed.
