Re: Florida Froggers

There are a bunch of us between Tampa and Sarasota.
Some frequent this site... some frequent that "other" site.

Re: 9/11/01- where were you?

I was at work, watching it all unfold on my computer, most likely on cnn.com A few dozen of my coworkers were gathered around my desk watching with such great dismay. I remember some of the women were crying, I am pretty sure a lot of us men were choking back the tears, I know I was. Not only for th...

Re: too humid?

Those LED bulbs do throw off a lot of heat. Not on the lit side, but on the back side of the bulb. You may need to have a fan blowing on the bulbs or perhaps a fan above them drawing the heat away from the tank. I purchased some similar bulbs (14W from a Dendroboard member) and I plan on building a ...

Re: Colleen's Azureus viv

Colleen,
Are those adult frogs?
Its hard to tell because the pics were real close up.
The hydei FF's might be too large for them if they are small frogs. If so, I suggest trying Melanogaster FF's instead.
If they are feeding on the Hydei ok, then disregard this post altogether.

Mistking elbow and tee height needed

Could someone with a Mistking system installed thru a glass top please measure the height of the tee and/or elbow as it sticks above the glass? I am going to build a canopy for an Exo Terra 18x18x24 and I want to make sure it fits over the tee/elbow (when I get them :? ) Thanks in advance for any he...

Re: Dusting tips needed

When catching them with chopsticks becomes easy, then elevation on the path, you will have begun... Curse you! I have gotten nothing accomplished for the last few days... nothing but practicing with these darn chopsticks. When this Flyhopper snatches the fly from the master's hand then he becomes t...

Air stone in drainage layer ?

Does anyone think using a simple airstone dropped into the water in the drainage layer (or false bottom) would be beneficial?
I am just trying to think of a simple way of creating movement so the water does not stagnate.
Other suggestions??

Re: Dusting tips needed

Thanks for this post Philsuma.
Until I read this I had been trying to catch each fly individually and hold it down while I put some dust on it.
