hey cer, wow, those are some broad questions. tincs and azureus are both suitable beginner frogs. look through the classified ads and vendor sites to get an idea of prices. your plant choices seem solid. you should read through old posts and viv construction journals to see what supplies you need de...

it might be possible, but there are a few challenges. the first thing would be to plant them where the frogs won't mess with them. each leaf can only close a couple of times before dying, so if the frogs are bumping them and triggering the traps, they won't be able to grow new ones fast enough to ke...

i have bakhuis tincs, which are one of the smallest tincs. sexed pairs $300 i also have e. anthonyi pasaje-sarayunga pairs for $150. their color varies with lighting and is hard to photograph, so i posted two pics of the same pair taken under different lighting conditions. i also have sexed pairs of...

hey fran, it sounds like you are not too far into the project, so i would like to point out that a 20L is hard to plant. by the time you make a false bottom or leca layer, then add substrate, you have less than 10" for plants. if you can cheaply upgrade to a taller tank, even an extra 6" really open...

Leca is good. I like LECA much better than gravel - it's coarse and much lighter than gravel as well. I then put a layer of screen down to keep the soil out of the lower drainage layer, then go with the upper substrate, which is the same thing as soil / ABG. That's it.

hey mitch, the leucs should live 10 years or more. at that rate, even $100 extra is only $10 per year....less than you'll spend on dusting powder or fly cups. and i'd go with at least 40-55 gallons for a group of leucs (4-6). i'm sure people have them breed in smaller set-ups than that, but that's a...

mitch, i would go bigger if at all possible. personally, i'd go with the 18x18x24 for a pair of leucs if you can get a decent price. and remember that your tank will last for years, and with the price of frogs, plants, supplies, etc, an extra few bucks for a bigger tank is money well spent in the be...

hey jason,

i'm sorry to hear it. sitting in water can be a sign of other health problems...you might do a search for 'fecals' or 'quarantine'. i'm not sure what a "white back" is, but you'll come across info about aggression and crowding if you do the search for 'quarantine'.
