Re: Cold Weather Power Outages

Pray.
Depending on the setup/extent of the "frog room" some have generators.
I had an arrangement with another local frogger, I could bring mine to his place and vice versa if needed. But he's out of it now, so, now I cross my fingers and hope the lights stay on.

Re: Bought my first rack!

One suggestion. Add some 1/2" to 3/4 thick plywood to the rack. Vivs can get heavy, it adds some support to the wire.
I spray-painted mine the rack black so it matches a little better.

Re: Questions about eggs

Have you noticed any snails in the viv with the leucs? They go to town on eggs.

Re: Multiple clutches- can pumilio raise them all ?

Back on track....with an update. I loaded up the tank with film cans. Up to yesterday, I thought that they let the second clutch go, didnt transport any (had 10 good tads on the leaf, which was "tough" to watch"). Yesterday I had somebody over, showing them the tanks, and, low and beh...

Behind the 8 ball posting here as most of the heats past us here, but neighbor fried an egg on the driveway just to say she did it.

Just a thought on this thread, if you have any pics to go with your wish list posts, please put them up.
Thanks

Re: Great stuff pulling off glass?

If you silicone some egg crate to the glass it gives it something additional to grab onto... I always use egg crate for the false bottom and generally have some spare pieces from the sheets that I trimmed off.
Just a little tip.

Re: Multiple clutches- can pumilio raise them all ?

It was a rough year...:( Long story, started with a bad frog sitter experience, followed by a busy work schedule, followed by baby... Getting back on top of things now:) Feels good to see them laying again. After my sitter issue, I had to kinda nurse them back and took things easy for a while, I got...

Re: Multiple clutches- can pumilio raise them all ?

Going without broms was intentional on this viv. When I built it I had read a thread regarding the use of broms vs canisters and the statement being made that they will utillize whats given. I wanted to play with it a little, and see what happens. I kind of credit these clutches though to one of you...

Multiple clutches- can pumilio raise them all ?

Approximately 2 weeks ago my mancreeks laid their first clutch in over a year, a big one too, 10 eggs. 7 of the eggs were fertile, and as of last night, only 3 tads were still on the leaf. Three days ago however, before they started transporting, she dropped another 10 eggs, that all appear to be fe...

Re: Newb mistakes - FESS UP, we ALL made them...

I had frogs in a vivarium set up that I purchased from a friend for about a year prior to attempting my first build. At the time, I didn't know the forums existed (not much of an internet guy) and knew nothing about building a viv other than what he had told me and what I had observed in his vivs. O...

Re: Hello from the Mountains of North Carolina!

Auratus are awesome. I have a group of 6. Highland Bronze. A bit on the shy side when they start out, but over time, mine are very active and generally out and about. Give them time to settle in. They still scatter when I open up for misting and feeding, but I think they are my favorite to sit and w...

Welcome to the Den. A 29 is a good place to start. Have you narrowed down what type of frog you'd like to put in it?

Re: I'm the new guy here planning a 55 falling build and I h

I've used the lids from the great stuff containers also, they work fine. I wouldn't put a brom in one (no drainage) but good for vines etc... As far as the contact paper, a lot of times with silicone on the inside, a spot gets missed, or, where its not as thick you will get a little glow of the ligh...
