Re: Tadpoles need to breathe - unsealed ?

Good water and good air! I do not cover my containers. I have a water line on the jars and when i notice evaporation i add spring water that is the same room temp as the tad containers. I feel fluctuation in temps is a good thing. As with anything a prolonged exposure has the potential to do harm. I...

Re: Do you like Glass dishes for Viv use ?

You know you spend to much time in the frog room when you get excited hearing about other peoples ideas and techniques. Pipets and condiment cups! That's just fun!! :D

Re: Oophaga pumilio punta lauren discussion

It is everyones business to educate those in this hobby that care for its future. I do not get my frogs from panama farms. So get your information straight before making accusations. Every frog in my collection is CB in the US. Again how many WC frogs are in your collection. Just because i dont get ...

Re: Oophaga pumilio punta lauren discussion

So what if joe blow buys land and gets paperwork to export frogs. Bottom line Rich there are frogs that are continuing to be imported. But is that realy an issue? To me your not worried about importing frogs just the way they are collected. And what happens when the stock is depleated ...go buy mor...

Re: Oophaga pumilio punta lauren discussion

Proof would entail doing some more work. Like for example, understanding how different some countries are than others concerning laws about their exports. For example, Costa Rica, a country which shares a border with Panama demands proof of captive breeding, but before that they demand collection p...

Re: Oophaga pumilio punta lauren discussion

ok...'demanding proof' ? I totally follow you there. I often get criticised for demanding the truth, as the pursuit of facts was my previous career in real life. So to try and distill your entire argument here....you feel that ALL exportation efforts start out and remain the SAME unless you can see...

Re: Oophaga pumilio punta lauren discussion

The confusion is coming from people thinking im saying the collecting of the frogs is the same. I dont recall ever saying that. I said a WC frog is a WC frog. Nothing about how it was collected. If you cant see taking a frog from the wild is causing harm than thats another thread. If its collected f...

Re: Oophaga pumilio punta lauren

No problem. |My suggestion would be to search out all the relevant info which has been posted over the past 12 years. It is out there for everyone to see. Most info will be found on Frognet (not ton, but some good info none the less) , Dendroboard and here on Dart Den. Every single situation and ev...

Re: Oophaga pumilio punta lauren

WOW! I am not sure if you are saying this out of ignorance or it is just part of your justification, but either way it's an extremely silly statement. . And Rich the only way to grow is to discuss no matter how "silly". My opinions on people and situations always change with new info. So ...

Re: Oophaga pumilio punta lauren

Sustainable agraculture i believe is what they are calling it " They only export offspring. " So instead of collecting breeders from the wild they are taking the future generations i see more clearly now thanks. :D and as far as the frogs they are protecting now how many years before they ...

Re: Oophaga pumilio punta lauren

I do not agree with a wc being different because of the way it was collected. WHAT!?! (My apologies to the O.P. here, I intended to stay out of this one.) Impact studies. In situ breeding. Oversight. The difference between the smash and grab pumilio importation, versus Tesoros, Wikiri, and Understo...

There are a few of us who are slightly jaded to the "new" and shiny. We have seen it and dealt with the bad information. We have answered emails and PMs and the flood of ' trust is on this locale data for this totally new pumilo, because this time we are not bullshitting you..." Othe...

Re: Oophaga pumilio punta lauren

There are people selling them i just recieved my 1.1 last week. Beautiful frog! There was an import this year from Stricktly Reptiles that had some nice frogs. They are "South canal popa". Punta laurent was the collector that they were named after. Just more confusion to add to the barrel.
