Re: Adelphobates galactonotus Eggs - pics
Thanks Stu!
The galac eggs start out white, and they evetually darken, and the tadpole that hatches is black.
Yes, the reds can be finicky! They can be rather reclusive, on the other hand the solid orange are very visable, always out and about.

Re: My Vivarium
Cer, there are a lot of good quality digital gauges that can be found at some of the Big Box stores, usually cheaper than the ones at pet shops. Be sure to get your gauges and check your temps/humidity before you get your frogs. Check it through the day with the lights on to get your temp range. Do...

Re: My Vivarium
Nice looking tank Cer. Leucs are great frogs, you will enjoy them!
I would recommend different gauges, go with digital.
FYI Hydroton is a brand name of LECA (Light Expanded Clay Aggregate).

Re: Avatar upload problem. Anyone else ?
One thing I've noticed is that this forum seems to have much smaller size requirements than some others. I've tried to use some of my avatars on this site that I have on others, but it says they are too large.

Re: Are O. pumilio really considered "Hard" to keep ?
When I was working with pumilo, the 'starter' was the bastimentos. I had 3 pairs of these, before I ventured on to obtain the Shepard's Island, Bri Bri, and a few others.

Re: A few substrate construction questions
Not sure if I would be concerned about the Styrofoam being petroleum based considering Silicone, Great Stuff, plastic and just about every other product we use in todays society is oil based (thank you for supporting my industry) That's true, however I use food grade silcone, and when I use the wat...

Re: A few substrate construction questions
I have been using a traditional false bottom, with Hydroton as the drainage layer for 10+ years. The reason I do this is so the substrate will drain through, and the Hydroton will establish a bacteria colony much like bio-balls in an aquatic filtration system. Ideally the false bottom will have at ...
