I've heard White's tree frogs (Dumpy tree Frog) do well in Green houses. They're big and hardy and not very shy. I had some awhile ago in a vivarium and really enjoyed them. You can get some beautiful blue morhs of them.
Peace.

My Name is Jake Thompson I am 29 and I live in Santa Cruz California. I am a retail manager and a freelance artist. I have several hobbys including reading, hiking, miniature painting and gaming and most recently Dart Frogs. My Fiance' Gretchen says I have a passion for creating my own little worlds. I am currently building my first Vivarium and will be posting pics soon in the building and construction topic.

And just for fun here is a pic of me writing this post.

HEy Littlefrog. I got my frogs mostly at nice pet stores. I found the blue morph froglets at a show. They aren't exactly azureus blue or anythimg but they are like a light aqua. quite cool compared to the green ones. I was searching online just now for some for sale and found a few, but I've never been to those sites before and don't know much about them. Like I said, the green ones are pretty common at pet stores. I don;t trust anything other than a fish or two from the big chains like Petsmart. Good luck.
Sorry this post got of topic withh the whole name thing guys.
Peace.

My name is Jacob Potts, I am 15 years old, I live in central Fl, and I am quite active in the dartfrog hobby, and no longer keep any gecko species, as my name implies but I kept it as people knew me from Kingsnake, and DB. I currently maintain a moderate collection, with the majority of my animals breeding.

Hey all, my name is Luke. I live on Long Island, NY and am 21. Have been pretty active on the DB board for about 6 months now, however I have no frogs as of yet. Planning on purchasing a colony of about 8 leucs in the next month to live in the 115gl viv I have been building for the last few months.

Aside from frogs, I like FW planted fishtanks, soccer, and photography. I have been together with my girlfriend for over a year now and everything is going great  I attended UDEL for 2 years and have recently transfered to SUNY Stony Brook where I am studying biology/premed. I'm really excited to join this board and chat with all you guys.

I am employed at General Motors as an electrician. 58 years old. I have traveled twice to the upper Amazon, Belize, Costa Rican Osa Penninsula, and Bastimentos island, Panama. Planning to return to Costa Rica this December with my wife, Karen. I love searching for the frogs in the wild.
Nearly stepped on a fer-de-lance in Costa Rica and saw a coral snake in Equador. The frogs were great too.

Hi ,
Welcome.
Nice to see another MI frogger.

Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

My name is Karen Horn. I live just outside of Houston, Tx and I'm 35 (did I just admit that?!?!?) Anyway, we have a zoo. 1.3 dogs, 1.1 cats, 1.0.1 parrots, 0.2 russian tortoises, 135g saltwater reef tank, 75g paludarium, 29g vivarium and a 10g freshwater tank.

We are in the process of getting some frogs for our 29g and will put some more in the paludarium down the road.

This madness with the frogs started when my partner decided to turn our son's 75g into a paludarium. She started out wanting RETF and then I found darts.........it was love at first sight!

Ok, My turn!

My name is Stephanie and I'm completely new here. I'm 18, I live in Vancouver and I'm a single high school student who is planning to study floristry next year at a local college. I too enjoy long walks on the beach, as well as Pina coladas and getting caught in the rain 8)

Currently I don't have any darts, But I'm very much into the hobby! My plan is to slowly build up my Vivariums (a 10g complete with false bottom, waterfall mist maker, and live plants and a 250g planted like the Pacific Northwest) and eventually get a few auratus and/or teribillis (I'm horrible with scientific names, so I usually just go with "that mean little green one...") I'm always up for good books, so any suggested reading material would be welcome Big Grin I currently have two WTFs and two leopard geckos, as well as a house cat, and an Irish Setter.

My other hobbies include Figure skating (Jr. Bronze skills and national level Synchronized skating) and NO I cannot do a triple axel... But I can do a mean Flying Camel! and also Ceramics, especially making little things for my herps, like endless bowls and hideouts. I'm going to try and get some personalized stuff on my website for sale this summer. so if your interested in Personalized ceramic stuff for herps, let me know!

I have a website: www.freewebs.com/stephsgeckos Its undergoing a major overhaul at the moment, but its still entertaining. you can also see some pics of me and my other animals there. (I should mention photography is my other hobby)

...I think that about everything anyone would want to know.... Confusedhock:

Hi all,

well I'm Paul I live in New jersey, although I'm originally from the UK (I miss home a lot, but have settled rather well)

I have a wife (she's a non-native NJ resident came from California about the same time i came from London).
we have a stunning 13 month old baby girl who seems to have the ability to make me chuckle no matter how bad the day has been.
I'm a Financial advisor by trade a very boring and frustrating profession but hey some one has to do it.

I kept PDA's in the UK for a number of years but got out of the hobby when I moved to the USA.
I managed to get my wife excited about keeping these amazing frogs by taking her the Hamburg show on the 4th and we picked up 2 Juvenile blue sips and she is so in love with them that she went out and got a 44gal pentagonal tank for me Big Grin
I plan on putting some terribilis in there but cant find any available Cry

actually rich if you have any adult fro sale (1:2 or 1:3 ) i would be interested!

enough for now.

Welcome Stephanie and Paul,
Stephanie, as far as good reading, if you read enough of the few good forums out there, most questions will surface. Archive searching can pay off. The trick is deciding which method to go for and what specie/species may be for you. Talking to people you trust is often the best method to gain up-to-date info. As far as recommending a book to get started, there are really no books that I would say are comprehensive enough or pertinent to what is going on in Noth America. Sad but true. They are all either outdated or sadly lacking. If you are looking for good pics, that is another story.
Paul, I do not have any adult terribilis for sale but I usually (now) have orange and yellow terribilis for sale. I am quite jealous of some of the frogs (froggers holding these frogs, actually) that have "found" their way to Europe.

Reading online was always Plan number one, But call me old fashioned, I just like books as an emergency reference! I guess I can print off some topics....

to the person who was thinking about putting Whites in a green house; the white should do fine if they can get enough food. But they really are fat little guys and they will make a point of sitting on your most delicate plants

I look forward to some interesting discussions with all of you. This seemed like an appropriate place to make my first post.

Hi All,
My name is Mark Wilson and I live in Hazleton, Iowa.I have had dartfrogs just over 3 years and keep: 1.2 vittatus, 1.2.5 bicolors, right now 2.3.6 imitators,1.2.4 Costa Rican auratus,2.0.1 vents,2.2 Shepard Island green pumilios, 2.5 castaneoticus.
