So is it $55 a book if we can get 10 people or is it $66.00 no matter what?

I'm in...anyone else? Seems like a pretty good price for what I am hearing is one of the best pumilio pic guides currently available.

It's not only a great book, but the "extra" money (for those that believe the price is high) goes towards the work and legacy Chris built before he died....so I'm more than o.k with that.

I need to make @ $10.00 per book "profit" if I'm going to pony / tie up 1/2 of a thousand dollars....have to work to sell ,recoup 3-4 non-prepaid books, yada yada.

Wlima stated that there are no discounts for group buys...no wholesale. The shipping for 10 books is the cost effective way to get a few more books and only saves @23.00 USD. No great savings to be had here guys as this is a conservation effort type thing.

ordering a single book would be 53.50 Euros or @ $73.00 - sucking up all the airfreight coast for a one book.

And now....my Review.

First off....the Book is softcover and large. I envisioned a pocket guide somehow and you'll see by the accompanying pics that this a large book, which is very cool. It's @ 8.25" wide by 11.5" tall !

There are only 12 double sided pages, BUT they are chock full of excellent quality photographs and map locations - "102 different colorforms/locations. There is no text - this is only a picture book but it's FAR from just a coffee table eye-candy offering. The amount of time and effort that the late author put into this collection is immediately evident. This book is the definitive pumilio identification guide right now, over all others, IMO. It's just that good. It's a must have for all pumilio enthusiasts. Let me say that again. A MUST have. A labour of love, a work of art....that's how I see it.

The pages are heavy stock and all, including cover are quality glossy as well. This book will hold up to the test of time, nicely, I'm sure.

If I have one knock about this book, it's that the maps are too small. I understand the need to be purposefully vague about some of the rarer or smaller pumilio populations but a larger map would have been easier on the eyes. The pages and individual photos should also be numbered for better reference.

Just a quick review, and to those 2-3 people that were on the wait list to see if one of the pre-orderers backed out....no such luck. They are all paid for. BUT, I hope to have another order in real soon. PM me to be on the new order list. The tough part is the shipping cost from Holland. Wilma (Chris's wife) is wonderful to deal with but they are adamant about no wholesale or group discount and I do not blame them one bit. This book is also a rare conservation offering and monies go directly to the P.P.P.P, or Panama Pumilio Protection Project. So if you even need one MORE reason to buy this book...there it is.

What a lovely project. This is just a great book.
