Tapatalk problems ?
Re: Tapatalk problems
I use my regular android ICS OS...never tried tapatalk with any of the many forums I belong to. I'm just fine, personally with the regular phone browser.

Re: Tapatalk problems
It seems our Tapatalk app needs updated. It's proving to be a bear to do....bear with us..heh
Do a lot of people use Tapatalk? I hear it makes posting pics really easy. I've never used it and happen to like the standard browser format for all my smartphone surfing...
We will get er' fixed though.

If you have a 'bad tapa experience' and have problems...post here on this thread so I can get an idea of what we are up against.

Re: Tapatalk problems
On mine the only posts that show up are under "Unread", nothing under "All" or "Participated".

Re: Tapatalk problems
I'm rocking a Razr Maxx and the browser is awesome for all my forums. I belong to at least 6 different forums and I've never considered using tapatalk to view them. The browser works just fine....unless there's something I'm missing, as why tapatalk is even remotely 'better' than a regular browser ?

1. I don't have to constantly sign in and out of a forum
2, It's normal size. I don't have to use my fingers to expand a browser page so the print is legible.

I can click the 'keep me signed in' box too.
Now the fingers - expanding the page....I don't find that intrusive at all. That's the joy of a cool smartphone to me.

Hate to say it, but it does cost less than a Starbucks latte ($2.99) to find out (even on android) what all the shouting is about. Even if it isn't your cup of tea for day-to-day stuff, it lets you check in when you want to see how a fair portion of your users see your site...

+1. I'm a member of entirely too many forums, some of which I visit too seldom for "keep me logged in" to help. Memorizing my login is a big deal.
Beyond that, it lets me treat it like any other mobile messaging platform (txt, email, fb messenger, etc) -- duck in and check my messages with a few swipes and back out, much easier than with a mobile browser (even a good one, even if I'm signed in).
If I want to do something beyond what tapatalk lets me do, it'll wait until I'm back at the keyboard.
...and we're people who use real computers, a fair amount of the day. I know a lot (a lot a lot) of people who seldom if ever go near a computer to visit forums --it's exclusively a phone thing; for most of them, if tapatalk wasn't an option, they'd not be on a forum.
Re: Tapatalk problems
I can't toggle back and forth out of it though....when you install the app and use it, it more or less WANTS to keep being used in lieu of a browser.
I hate things that try to make me do something, and are hard to back out of.
I haven't heard that much praise about the app - seems lukewarm / 50/50 type stuff. It's been around for 3-4 years right ? Nobody is claiming it's the next coming of Jebbus or anything...

Re: Tapatalk problems
So far the consensus is...
Tapatalk works here on Dart Den....but there is a hiccup or two.
Correct ?
No one is reporting an out-and-out app or software fail or incompatibility.

Re: Tapatalk problems
Did I ever mention the client I had, back in the day, who kept polling his user base to see if they wanted a Windows version of his DOS app? They all kept saying no, until the day a competitor appeared with a Windows app. Then he didn't have any more clients to poll...

Re: Tapatalk problems
Good thing we don't have to worry about clients here then..heh
The membership here is wonderful but I'm not sure they are ever going to be paying my Exterra loan or your BMW chuck.
Wait till that new Canadian company realizes that the Dart Frog niche hobby pulls in....well....let's just say we pull in only 10% more than the 'newt and salamander hobby' , which is 10% of almost nothing...

Sometimes in a post if something is linked I only see the post not the link in the post.
