Ranitomeya benedicta "line info"

Postby Philsuma » Mon May 23, 2011 8:42 pm

Does anyone have line info / history on this species ?

I believe they were in the U.S hobby before Mark Pepper exported them a year or so ago.

To my understanding this species wasn't even discovered until 2005 (source Understory enterprises) .Other random internet searches say 2008. Dendrobates.org suggests that some may have been smuggled at some point after that to Germany. Nothing in my reading indicates that any made it here illegally prior to understory releasing them early 2009 but I would be curious if that is incorrect.

This frog was discovered by smugglers from what I have heard and if any were here before UE they were smuggled.
