Hi all,

Today I found my first reticulatus eggs Big Grin

One looks to be bad, but the other I can't tell yet.

Anyone have any hints on successfully raising these?

Thanks

Chris
More specifics please ?

Eggs are easy-ish.

Producing froglets and then juvis, which will be healthy adults, thats another thing.

Hi Rich,

It was the eggs specifically I was looking for advice with, as I already have info on the tads and froglets.

To explain, the pair I have I just brought and the chap I brought them off was having problems keeping the eggs good for more than a few days so basically I was after some hints for egg care.

Do people leave them in with the adults or remove them?

Do you use 'Tadpole tea' made of oak leaves or blackwater extract to moisten them?
Hi,
The eggs seem to do best with almost any "tea" of oak, peat, Kent Blackwater, whatever, just touching the eggs enough to keep them moist without covering them.
I pull the eggs usually, but have pulled tads from film cans tons of times also.
How long have they been producing bad eggs?

I don't know how long the chap had them for exactly, but I think they had laid a few clutches for him.

I have had them about a week and had three eggs so far, 2 bad and one only found today so...who knows?
Sometimes it just takes a bit of maturity for the Darts to start producing good eggs. Sometimes it takes more than a bit...

Very true.

Ah well, I'll let them get on with it in their own time.

Thanks Rich
