So just a few days ago i got a pair of azureus dart frogs and have been trying to monitor their adjustment into their new home. i have placed them in a 30 gallon long terrarium with plenty of hiding spots, plants, a water feature, and ideal temperature and humidity (72-78* w/ 90% humidity.) So far, they have been behaving as i would expect most animals would in a new home- exploring all areas of the tank and tending to hide quickly when i start to watch them. However, i'm not sure how to figure out if they are eating properly. in the past 3 days, i have witnessed one of the frogs eat about 5 or 6 flies on two different occassions, while i have only seen the other frog eat 3 or 4 flies once. is this normal? since i haven't been watching them 24 hours a day, its certainly possible that they've been eating while i'm not around, but i often see them hop right past a group of flies without eating. i have probably been putting about 20 flies in the cage to eat each day, but they're so small its difficult to count too closely and, once they walk around the tank for awhile, the vitamin dust falls off and they become harder to keep track of. any advice or comments on whether i should be worried about how much they are eating or do they just eat less when they enter a new home?
