OK. I have three breeding groups of Reginas. One has been together for about two years now. Breeding for the last nine months or so. The two females in the other group were acquired at the same time as the first breeding pair, along with another male who impaled himself upon a brom, not kidding, I need to post that for a warning. Anyway. Those two breeding groups took awhile to produce eggs. Longer than my other tincs. 16 months or so. When I found replacements for the fallen male, they were about twelve months , I was told. They are smaller than my other male also. After going through the usual quarantine period I placed the males in with the older females 1:1 and 1:1 . Within six days both the new pairs had produced eggs, one clutch is fertile. My point here is; If tinc females seem to be the ones that mature slower (both original groups only produced after 16 months, new 12 month males , one week.) then this trait may also carry into the thumbs with the males calling a month or so, or more ,before any egg production. I wonder if this is a female maturity related issue with getting bad eggs from some lamasi for soooo long???
