I have set up one tank, 20g long. I kept things pretty simple with corkbark and great stuff background and sides, a small, shallow pool and hydroton for the drainage layer. I am getting ready to set up another tank, only this time I have a 20g high. I would like to put in a waterfall, so from what I've been reading I think I'll need a false bottom with eggcrate and pvc pipes. My current tank has a glass lid that consists of two pieces hinged together. There are also two 2-inch screened in holes in the front piece for ventilation. My question is this. If I make a waterfall, then I'll need a pump, which means a cord. How do I get the cord out of the tank, with a glass lid? Fran
Hi Fran, Depends on how thick the cord is and how thick the plastic lip is on the inside of the tank. Typically I carve a notch out of the plastic lip on the tank in the back where I want to run the cord. Then I silicone to prevent escapes.
Okay, thanks! That makes sense! Fran
