Heya,
My wife and I have a variety of pets. Eight corn snakes (2 of which will be breeding in a week or so), Four Firebelly toads, two big dogs, two cats, fish aquarium, plus we have breeder mice and rats to feed the snakes. Were going to a herp show this month and she's getting a red tail boa. If I get all my research done on darts I'll probably pick some up along with some Leo geckos. First off is there a good website that shows all the different species of darts with pictures? The best one I could find had 52 different varieties. It gave the scientific name the colour of morph, country of origin and I guess it would be the subspecies name (The dyeing PDF, Blue PDF, Yellow banded PDF) So if someone knows a website that explains the difference between the subspecies that would be awesome. Also from what I understand Darts don't need a paludarium, since my FBT are in one can someone give a rundown on what plants you use in your tanks. My wife went full water plants so that is all that I am kind of familar with. Thanks for any info,
Brendyn
you seem to be pretty well read on herps, they best thing at this point would be to head over to a local public library and find a well written book on the subject, ive never ran into a web site that had a real good database of dart frogs, but im sure someone has written a book on the subject.

as for plants, check around with the sponsors of this site and look at some of the plants they offer, or go to lowes and find some nice tropical plants that STAY SMALL! dont trust the person in the plant area either, look at a few plants, then come back and do your own research.

i found a ton of useful info just digging through what the the sponsors sell.
Welcome to the forum, and the hobby.

Here are a few websites you might find interesting, if not helpful, for pictures of the frogs

I've been to our library already and they didn't have a single book worth looking at. I'm not allowed to order any more books until the wife gets her red tail. (she's an expensive woman she can't have just a normal she wants I think it was called a coral albino I dunno she did the research on it) For plants you said tropical so does that mean that any tropical plant should be ok (talking to survive in viv) Thank you for the info

Thanks Cindy I found those websites very informative and of course the frog that I liked the most. A search showed it's not sold at least according to Dendro board (R. benedicta) Also I found that there is a frog fest in Tacoma in May so instead of getting some this month I'll wait until then. I bet my options would be alot more then since it's frogs for the most part.[/quote]
Brendyn,
being in SeaTac,
you are right in the middle of some of the best froggers around!

I forgot about the NWFF being this year, I need to check my calander and see if I can make it. It will be a good time for sure!
And yes, if you can make it to the NWFF, you will be able to find just about anything your heart desires.

Well I'm definately going to go to it being as it's being held 10min from my house. I think that the website said May 2, vendor info is 2yrs old though. Was hoping that I could find a few of the vendors websites to get a heads up to what would most likely be offered. I'm going to get a culture hopefully at the Herp show this month just so I can make sure I have everything under control before I bring any home. One more thing I've read that sometimes there can be an aggresive female so should you only keep pairs in one tank? I have a 29 gallon I was going to be setting up for them and thought I would be able to go 3 or 4 in that tank but don't want to stress them out. Hmmm I was going to go juves so sex would be unknown for awhile right? FBT's were easy they were already paired when we picked them up and they all are in the same tank but both pairs hang out seperately. Kinda odd too because one pair is the bright green and the other is a brownish green and they paired with the other of their colour.

Also Cindy if you have time for a private question (it's a price question with a concern on it) could you email me for some reason I can't PM Thanks
Brendyn,
you have a PM.

Unfortunately Corey had to implement some safe guards to prevent the spammers from signing up and sending everyone on the list their porn ads.
You will be able to email after a 7 day grace period.
