You owe it to the frogs, if nothing else, to get it all back. You're top notch Phil. Never experienced any seller more concerned about who "adopted" (not "bought") his frogs. I drove 700 miles twice before you'd even sell me one! BTW, they are all doing fine.

Best of luck with the move and just think of the fun you're going to have starting it all over again, building better tanks! Ed
Thanks Ed. You can imagine my stress levels, placing all those frogs and vivs with the right people. The stress of moving a medium sized collection to the proper people and now, moving myself to Florida and on to "part two" of my life.

Very stressful for someone going into their "Golden Years". heh
Hey Phil,
Love the morphguide posters, those things are awesome. Where did you get them?
Oh yeah....you would like those. The guy who made them - SN "Frog and Toad" I believe, gave me permission to produce a few. Basically I went to the copy store and played around with sizes until I got a size that was easy on the eyes and had them copied on that heavy duty gloss paper. They look cool framed.

I saw some copies in my basement when I was cleaning the other day.PM me your address and I'll hook you up.
Do I miss it? Yep....
Make that move and get the new one up and running!
The "New" frog room will consist of a single baker's rack with two(2) Vivs and a couple grow-outs. I'll be renting for a while.
I'm sure it will be no time at all till you're back up to 35 vivs.

I have a question Phil. In your first pic, at the upper left hand corner is some kind of device. It has a white plastic base and a blue plastic top with a black tubing coming out of the top. What is it?

Suggestion for the new frog room......dorm fridge, keeps that Red Bull cold!
Rusty - KAZ brand Ultrasonic humidifer. Highly recommend. Discontinued but still available on eBay for @20 bucks.

What type of outlet for the mist should one look for in order to make converting it to the tubing an easy process?

That KAZ does look a little like a baby still...heh.
Wow. you had an incredible set up PHIL!

With that amount of Vivs running and Frogs how was your production of fruitflies and how often?

I would had love to see this in person! maybe one day when your in FL!

Juan
Thanks Juan,

It'll be back, at some point in time...in FL

At one point, I was making @ 40 FF cx's every Sunday.
Phil: When you're making that kind of quantity, are you buying media or making it yourself? Pre-made is convenient, but at that quantity, can be very expensive. Just wondering if there are less expensive avenues to the FF media. Ed
make it yourself....buy bulk ingredients....

When you make FF media yourself....you save @ 40-50% !!

Check out pic #6 for the restaurant food storage tub I use to store the media. It can hold enough media for 1/2 a year's worth of production and when I add new ingredients (I never measure either) I just roll the tub around and spin it to mix it all up.

I remember talking with Marcus B. in his warehouse about bulk ingredients and he was going to buy one of those mid-sized construction site cement mixers to mix all of his media in. I wonder if he bought one...
Thanks Phil.

thats a lot of FruitFlies. was there a separate room you kept your flies in?

Juan
Nope...same room....check out the pics and you can see the fly cups on trays in the room.
