ooh.. by the way... I am one of the two in the 22-26 age groups.. I am 23... but ive been working with darts for 10 years or so? and have gone on research trips specifically about them and worked at the Denver zoo in tropical discovery for several years as both a paid and non paid intern working around all the various different amphibian species they care for, including working with and helping take care of tadpoles and frog-lets of Atelopus Zeteki. so... judge young people carefully they may surprise you. :mrgreen:
Conngrats on the related work, I grew up living back and forth between ATL and Denver mainly Arvada so I've seen what they have there. I did not make a statement judging the young hobbyists. I said that that I was wondering what percentage of young to old NEW hobbyists are blindly teaching others. But like you said ten years in the hobby does not make you and expert as we all have different experience as well as different frogs. Venturing from breeding other herps I grabbed up my first darts in 1999 and have had atleast 40 running vivs since then up until last fall. There are many in the hobby with the same experience as you and I still have more hours clocked by far working with Darts as I have had them around me 24/7. Getting to leave for the day and having no responcibility after that isnt what many hobbyists get to experience as well as trial and error and not having to worryy about buying new frogs and redoing vivs. Its more hands on when its your own personal hobby and not your job.

52 here and just started darts a few months ago*. Full head of hair, my own teeth, and I probably found some of the weight the youngsters were bragging about losing :-)
(* I've been keeping fish since i was seven, though, if that helps. Of course, back then we had to fight the dinosaurs for them :mrgreen: )
I'm in the 17-21 range, although I'll be 22 in a month. I was 17 when I got my first dart frogs though....and my second....and third....and fourth....I was addicted pretty much instantly 8)
I'm 23 almost 24 but really got into the hobby when I was 16.
I am 41 yrs young. I am not sure if you could say I have a full head of hair unless you refer to it as cili baaahahahah
