A lot of new hobbyists who mail order frogs from importers, especially Pumilio, are frequently dissapointed to find a heavy, if not 100% male sex ratio.
The reason behind this is pretty simple. Campesinos are paid per frog and they usually set out to find as many as then can, as quickly as they can. This is accomplished by call locating the males.
The importer than obtains the WC imports and wants to sell / move them as quickly as possible to lessen the inevitable mortality shrinkage on his end. They do not really take their time to sex them and the females that are readily found are usually either held back or transfered to friends or tier one cherrypickers.
