No, I Didn't see them being eaten. I can only assume they were because when I first found them, there were 9 good, and 1 bad egg in the canister. The next day when i pulled them, the were only those 4 left.

yep..I would not doubt that species has females that would eat eggs. It's ok though....it actually kept the numbers down for me...slows down the breeding.
Try to extrapolate the tadpole amount from all those females sometime. 300 + a year from that colony may be possible. You def don't want that many.

Alrighty, well I'm back with an update on these guys! Well, long story short, they're all doing fine. (:
The eggs/tads are also doing fine. The clutch of 11 I posted photos of earlier are all doing well and move about ALOT when I tap their petrie dish. I don't think they're attached to the eggs at all anymore. Only encased inside them. So, I plan that they'll hatch any day now. Here's a photo of what they look like now:

Once these hatch, I'll have 20 tads from these guys. The eldest of which have sprouted full back legs! Still waiting for those front legs to pop, but I would guess they'll still be about a week or better before they will. They were only hatched on 8/15. I'll post photos of them tomorrow after I do a little water exchange

Thanks Phil.
One of the little guys have just ONE elbow sticking out. The hand is still inside, and the entire other side is as well.

Hey everyone! It's been a while since Ive been around these parts! There's been alot that's happened! I now have 5 vittatus tads out of the water and hopping around! The first hopped out on October 10, with the following 4 from her clutch coming along within a week. I've still got quite a few more tads waiting to sprout legs..but they're still quite a ways off yet. They're all hammering springs (thanks to Poisonbeauties) and melos! They're all doing great, and have BEAUTIFUL colors! I'm actually surprised how colorful they are! They actually might outcolor their parents. Expect photos in the coming days.
On a side note, I've also got two Panamanian Green and Black Auratus hopping around, with another 3 on their way, and 5 E. Anthonyii Santa Isabel, no more coming from these guys. They're all eating readily as well.
Just thought I'd share the excitement!

Great to see you back Mark....wondered where ya went.
Good news on the froglets. Remember to get them on powdered FF (calc and vits) asap. They may look small, but they can actually take small FF after a few days to a week.

Wow holy contrast...! might want to edit that down to a less 'lazer' tone on those first shots! haha, great shots though! Tads are looking great.

It's because it was overexposed a bit. I exposed for the wood, and had to tone everything down a bit. That leads to blown or bright lights. Next time, I'll probably do an HDR to get everything done well. But thank you! The tank has DEFINITELY grown in a bit since then. Photos to come.
