Good !

You got me laughing Phil. NARBC Chicago has had USFW every year.
I don't think it's funny....I HOPE they crack down. The National Breeders Expo is supposed to be a showcase event for CB animals. It started like that all the back to the very first one in the late 80's. I was there, in Orlando.
It is up to the show organizer and there staff to regulate CB only, no one else. As long as tables sell, and the event is full, I doubt there will be a big crack down.

1. The show want animals available that display a variety, not just ball pythons.
2. Not all species have had large scale success in captive breeding projects and people are still working to establish them. I can think leaf-tail geckos, crocodile skinks, and Emerald Tree Boas to name a few.

I have been to every NARBC Chicago expect the first, due to 9/11. It is also a "CB" only show yet WC are there every year.
As far as Florida rules go, read the Daytona shows web site to see the new rules explained, pretty basic, as told to me by an agent last year they just want a paper trail on every animal, I don't think that is unreasonable. FWC has over the years have been overall reasonable in their rule making procedures and enforcement. The USFWS could learn much from Florida, my opinion of course.

All they wanting is a simple spread sheet listing numbers of animals, species, date of birth/origin, and if jobbering source and address.
How are they going to get "DOB" on WC frogs ?
Check the website, the key allows for WC as an input.

It is quite interesting there was no source to check for flipping, strange , very strange Tongue
It's all about the almighty $$$....

You'd think that since 98% of all Reptile Shows are WC venues, that the NATIONAL Reptile BREEDERS show would stand to be a bastion of Captive breeding excellence. A showcase for the hard efforts of Breeders. Didn't it start out that way ?

I guess Wayne H. would stand to lose too mucho buckos if he left out the WC stuff or is our Exotic Animal hobbies in general so wild caught oriented that it just doesn't matter.

I'm ok with the WC stuff, heck I even direct and recommend hobbyists go to certain importers, but wouldn't it be spectacular to have this one show that would be awesome as a media centerpiece of what breeders and conservation can do....but alas...it will NEVER be.

Florida fish and wildlife could give a rats ass about anything other than permit and license fees....a lot of good help there
I am with you on this one!
Anyone else see someone tried to get Marcus into some shit for advertising wc for sale in his Daytona classifieds post? I didn't think it had really gotten to this point. Ive seen thousands of wc herps at the show over the years. But to start ratting out other breeders is getting to be an issue. Its making our entire hobby look bad.

Michael
I saw it and was thinking the same thing. There was also an instance of a sponsor calling out another sponsor on a petty issue, but I can remember.

In a nutshell, health reasons, as well as this show is very expensive to do, tables alone are $300.00 ea, then Hotel, Rental Van, Gas, Hotel (Hilton) food, animal and house sitter, Etc.I could go on but I think you get it.
gotcha...

Wish ya the best. I'll be down there full time soon (U.F Gainesville) most likely.
I thought you were heading to So. Fl.?
My major is "better" at U.F....believe me, I WANTED to go to International University of Florida at Miami (Coral Gables) but the courses and professors were a little more suited...up north.

I'll still end up living in Broward, down the road. Until then, I can make use of my sweaters and coats for a while. Heh.
