I am wondering how long is ok for a transport to take?
I saw my first tad hitching a ride yesterday at this same time. I can't be 100% sure, but I believe it is the same one this morning!
I was watching when dad came out of his brom upon waking, with Jr. still in tow. I've seen Jr. wiggle this am, so its alive, I saw dad in the water several times yesterday, but I guess baby is really attached to dad and didn't want to let go...
hard to say. Just make sure that there are adequate deposition sites - a few different choices. Film cans and those tiny plastic condiment cups are good. I use small glass bowls from the restaurant store that are designed to hold a little bit of salt or spices when baking - cause I love glass.

He has lots of places, 4 film cans (white and black), 4 broms in there, 2 definitely large enough, and one other is possibly. the 4th is too small for tads, but the adults use it as their bedroom. Besides those there is a condiment cup size (shallow) puddle in the substrate. I have seen him in the water in at least 2 of the film cans (each color), and the puddle (with the tad) yesterday and a couple of the same ones today... he seems really stuck on one film can, but Jr. doesn't seem to agree...
At least I feel better that I saw it wiggle, and it is alive still
Breeding didn't take long at all!
I didn't QT as they have all been together for a long time, and they came home viv and all. No other frogs have been or will be going in either of these vivs.
After I separated the fivesome into a pair and a trio (when both males began calling in the same tank I figured it was time!) it only took 13 days and I spotted the first clutch. (1 egg) That one successfully got to the point of leaving the gel, and the last I saw it, it slide down into the axil it was on (don't think it made it, but I can't see in there. Not much water, and haven't seen parents at that axil.) Since then (2 weeks) there have been 5 other clutches I've spotted between the two tanks. One clutch seems to have disintegrated. I'm now wondering if they all become frogs, if I'll be able to find enough good homes!
A tad can live for days ( 4, 5, 6) without being deposited, as long as humidity is OK.
It's the tads not the parents who decides which pool of water it likes best.

Thanks Rich, I remembered that the tad chooses when to stay put, but thanks for the reassurance on the length of time they are ok! It isn't on his back anymore, so I guess it found a good spot
