Anyone going to this show? I'm hoping to be there Saturday and I've got plenty of different kinds of feeders for sale or trade. I've got orange, giant canyon, and costa rican (dwarf) purple iso's as well as white springtails, hydei and melongaster FF's, bean beetles, and flour beetles. I'd really like to get my hands on some tomocerus (black) springtails and would be happy to trade or buy them!
Do you have a table as a Vendor?
No, I'm just a guy with a couple frogs and a whole lot of bugs that I enjoy sharing. Smile

Are you planning on going?

I would contact frogface as she might know more people. Im sure Tom and Jane w/ Under the Canopy will be there. I bet Jeff w/ Carolina Dart Frogs will be there too.
Tom, from Under the Canopy is doing one of his workshops like usual. Carolina darts WILL be there also. I know it's a little early but is anyone planning on going to either the show in Myrtle Beach in August or the Repticon Ice convention in Charleston in September?
I'm already planning on meeting frogface there! It looks like most of the people on this forum are on DB too, huh?

Sorry fishguy, but that's too far out for me to know if I'm going or not. I'd like to, SC usually has better animal shows than NC since they allow venomous animals. I'm not into venomous but it draws a bigger crowd which draws more vendors which usually makes for a better show.

So, no one going to the show has tomocerus springtails?
I was thinking of going to Raleigh but not going to be able to make it. Didn't matter because i wasn't planning on buying anyway.
When i lived in the Raleigh area I always thought Columbia was the best show to go to. Just my thoughts though.
Columbia wasn't bad. I went back in march to get my Leucs. The Ice convention last year in Myrtle Beach was much better. In Columbia, there were about 5 tables selling darts but hardly any supplies for them.
Dang i wish i was able to attend! enjoy it for those attending it!
Hey Juan, let me know if you want me to pick anything up for you.
Hey Shinosuke!

Just a word on umm, frog show decorum. Don't bring anything to sell that the official vendors will be selling. Such as ffs. Usually don't see isos, or springs, or bean beetles, but, several will be selling flies and crickets. They feel like their toes are getting stepped on when people who didn't spend money renting tables come in to sell stuff. Also, the guys at the front are supposed to keep people from bringing in things to sell. Just fyi. Big Grin
Thanks for the heads up! I did not know that but can see how that makes perfect sense. I don't plan on bringing anything people didn't arrange for beforehand and I'll stop asking if people want FFs or anything else that vendors are offering.
Besides, I say I'll sell or trade these things but then I always feel bad about taking local peoples money for bugs so I've never actually taken any money for them =P
It's not something you think about at your first few shows. I had grand plans of making lots of money at the MARS/IAD in Baltimore, until I read a post by Philsuma explaining why it's not cool for non-vendors to do that. Anyway, it's all good. See you tomorrow!

ps: I still want my bugs LOL
Shin....just make friends with a vendor at the show, and work WITH them to provide what you'd like for the hobby.

...just gott'a work within' the system, is all.

There's really no 'black and white' here, and like Kris says - it's a little bit 'bout respect.

Another thing people do, for Frog Day....to assuage guilt of bringing a lot a stuff, is to donate to the charity auction.

Some thoughts.
