Hello, guys. I'm going to set up my first vivarium, it is going to be 48 long, 24 in width and 55 in height. I was wondering what kind of bottom should I make, false or true? My vivarium has 2 drainage holes at the bottom, so I can use those holes for drainage and pumping water, putting small tank in the vivarium stand. Which method is better for keeping poison dart frogs? Thank you in advance Big Grin

That is one huge terrarium! If you have drainage holes, you don't need to do a false bottom. In that size of a tank, I would go with a paludium with an overflow and waterfall.

I'm working on a large viv too, not as big as that one though. I think I would use false bottom layers towards the back to build it up in steps, and different levels. Kind of depends on what kind of layout you have in mind. Please keep us updated on this, pics if you have them, and any problems you have along the way. This forum is great at getting help from the pro's. I always learn something new on every journal I read. And get some great do's and don'ts out of them. Have fun with it!
