Oak leaf decontamination for leaf-litter

Does anyone know what temperature or solution is used to sterilize oak leaves without harming their nutritional value too much? I would like to add them to an enclosure eventually and not infect the area with unwanted volunteers.

If the leaves are collected from an area that you do not have to worry about pesticides, most people will boil the leaves for a couple of minutes in water. The drawback to this is it will likely kill any microfauna that was on the leaves.
