Newbie! From Cleveland.

Hey, folks!

Just wanted to say hello. I'm looking to get some Suriname Dwarf Cobalts from a local breeder in the Cleveland area (saw her at a reptile how recently), but wanted to get as much infomation as possible on these little guys before buying them.

I currently have a 4 month old Veiled Chameleon. In the past, I've kept several green tree frogs, iguanas and a couple tarantulas. As someone who is allergic to cats and dogs, I usually choose other animals for pets. More importantly, my apartment doesn't allow those anyway, so, I'll stick with the reps and amiphes for the time being Smile

Anyways, I'd like to get at least 2-3 of the Suriname Cobalts.

Tank Size: Maybe something betweeen 20-30 gallons to house 2-3?

Tank Set-up: These guys are terrestrial, so I'm assuming a cage that is longer/wider is more important than one with height, correct?

Food: Pin-head sized crickets that had been "gut loaded" and flies. Is it difficult to grow fly cultures?

Thanks in advance!

That tank size should work. And, you are right that you want more floor space than vertical space. You will want to keep an eye on them as they grow up as they can be quite territorial as they get sexually mature. I keep all my tincs in pairs.

Fruit flies are super easy to culture.
