I have a 55 gal. horizontal viv planted and ready to go. My question: I like the surinam cobalt tincs. Aarons frog farm has 12 for sale. Can I safely put 6 in this enclosure? Is this a good beginner frog? Are they active and bold? Is it best to buy all of them at once or pairs, quarentining and introducing them to the viv 1 pair at a time?

Howdy,
Yincs are great beginner frogs, however, they are also one of the more aggressive species of dart frogs. For this reason, it is usually recommended to just keep a pair or two males with one female. A pair or trio would work great in a 55. They are big and bold (almost rowdy) frogs, so you will always see them....I guess i mean a pair will 'fill up the tank' with their activity. With a shy and less aggressive species, like auratus, you might put 5 or 6 in a 55 in hopes that one or two would be out and active at any given time.
Does that make sense ?
