TO me personally i wont do a wait list any more. Im not sure how it is with buying frogs but the few times i have been on wait list for reptiles it always seems to go bad. When i put money down on something and the buyer takes the deposit and put you on a wait list he is saying that you are guarenteed to get what your paying for. I also think that a seller shouldnt have more people on thier wait list then what they have for sale, example if your selling 10 frogs then you should only take deposits from 10 people. I dont think it is right to take money for more people just in case someone backs out. This is why i wont do wait list any more and only go looking when i am ready to buy.

If and when you are ready for frogs where there is greater demand than supply, your stance will not work for you...if and when that is.

That may be the case when i am ready to buy. Maybe its different with Dart frog breeders and wait list but its hard to do that when you have been burned a few times.

This hobby is built 99% upon trust. If you can't , don't or won't trust someone you are buying from, you are buying from the wrong peron or business.
Let me give you an example.
When you are ready to buy, and there well may be stores or meetings or shows in Delaware, you will find you have a much larger group of frogs to purchase from if you shop the net. Nobody I know ships frogs to strangers without up front payment...so, trust me now or trust me later, but there will be a certain amount of trust you will need to get through the hobby.
Read lots and lots of vendor feedback and see who really can be trusted would be my suggestion before you buy from anyone. Be they on the west coast or next door to you.
Wait lists are a very common and accepted practice in our hobby when lots of people want frogs which do not consistently pump out crap-tons of frogs.

Wait list are fairly common for the rare frogs.

Uncommon to common stuff ? No problem / No waits on that stuff. Just take an hour and peruse the classifieds here, and you'll get a good handle on prices, ect.
