UVB Penetratng Glass or Plastics ?
#1
Ok, I`m pretty sure UVB lighting doesn`t go thru glass right ?

How about plastic wrap or regular screening?

Thanks Big Grin

UV light doesn't pass through glass very well and screen will filter some of it out. There are special glasses and even plastics available that will allow UVA & UVB to pass.

It seems that distance from the bulb is the major factor. Most frogs live under canopies and receive little UVA / UVB; However, I believe all animals need some degree of UVA / UVB for a healthy existence.

This website could be everything you need on UVB…lol

Thanks Phil.
I was thinking more in terms of my plants getting enough light. I have an 12x12x12x18 Zoo-Med with 2- 26 watt compact fluorescent`s.

I know a lot of the U.K and E.U guys swear by UVB light for their Histos ect.

I'm not too good with the Plant lighting stuff, though...
