to my wifes dismay I caught it with a pair of our bbq tongs cutting it in half and flushing it down the toilet... fitting death for the bastard.

I went to feed the tadpoles and discovered I had lost two of the Reticulata tadpoles...no idea why.

When I had a pair of retics, things would go wrong with the eggs/tads that I have never had happen before. Switching to Repashy really did the trick to get the eggs through hatching, but tads were a different story. I would have some tads die out of the blue, some morph with only rear limbs, and some morph with no limbs. I have heard things like this happen quite a bit with retics, which is part of the reason you don't see them offered very often. Good luck with your pair.

I can't really describe how much I like your vivs and frogs, so I will focus on why. Your planting is so random and natural! Do you map it out on paper beforehand, or just design it as you plant? I really love how you manage to have so many plants, of so many different kinds, but yet preserve so much free space. Anyone can throw a ton of plants into a glass tank, but all of yours seem to be thriving. Your reticulata viv is the best vivarium/terrarium I have ever seen. Also, what lighting do you use? It looks like you have skylights above all of your vivs. And how do you keep the glass so clean? As for the frogs, well, the pics speak for themselves! I am sure a lot of people, including me, get into frogging hoping that they will have setups like that one day. Everything just comes together perfectly.

Thanks for the many compliments, I just randomly plant and stick things where they look good or I think they might go.

I like to order plant clipping packages from people and saying just give me an assortment. Some times it frustrates them sometimes they love it.

I love my reticulata tank as well. The benedicta still looks a bit barren but once I start adding some more ficus clippings in it will look nicer.

Lights are just cheap T8 fixtures from Lowes.

As far as the glass its simple, distilled vinegar and a paper towel. Its much easier to keep the Exo terra and zoomed glass clean than my top open vivs. Altho the C. Valley seem to think the front glass is the restroom. Never seen a frog poop as much as those little turds do.

Just to round it off you have taken 2 of our favourite dart pics yet,the guy sprawling, and the 2 benedicta in the film can...awsome. Mate i have been going through this late over the last few evenings as me bedtime inspiration,do you have any pics of the growout tanks (fts) if i've missed em apologies...give me a slap and i'll go back and find them,

Yes, I currently have 2 retic tads in the bin. The first one has just popped tiny little back legs.

thanks for the compliments...but don't pick a favorite yet! I am still learning to use my camera...I just recently starting shooting everything in Manual vs Program Now I just need to learn how to use photo editing programs.

My growouts are just 10gals with a substate, LL and pothos. Can't even see into them very well with the algae on the glass.

Heres a bit more eye candy Wink

Lmao,Shaz says its how he sits on that horse, ahh thats made my day, would agree though the rest are eye candy. You'll have to go some to top that Mike even with editing programms and a learner with your camera.Seriously we adore some of your shots, you seem to be in the right place at the right time...or more likely i guess spend alot of time on those shots. I'm embassed to say i am very much using mine as point and shot, which is awful really, mainly down to pressures on time. One day i'll get my head around it all, main goals is learning about these frogs at presant,
thanks again for making me smile eventhough it was unintentional
