How Conservation oriented are "Froggers" ?

I've been active in the exotic animal hobby / industry since the 80's.

I've been heavy into Geckos, Anolis other lizards and have had a lot of "snake people" as friends.

After finding the Dart Frog hobby @ 7 years ago, I am convinced that we (froggers) are much higher than average, with regards to overall conservation, awareness and action, than other animal hobbies. As always....just my opinion.

One demographic that i'm not aware of are the Turtle Hobbyists.

That's the Tortoise hobby....ever see a pond slider run ? Those guys are faster than frogs.

Heck my buddy has sulcatas and redfoots that when you ring the dinner bell.....look out.

lol, I have seen a snapping turtle run on water. That same snapping turtle made my old man scream like a little girl when it turned around and ran after him.

I've got a pretty good sized chunck of property, 2/3 of which are set aside as a conservation easement. The birds I see, box turtles, of course frogs, snakes and other wild life are awesome. Being part of the easement 1/2 sucks because I can never do anything with it down the road, on the other hand, it will always be there, and I take a lot of comfort/pride in that. We dont slash and burn here (the U.S.), we slash and build.
