What are the plants in that viv? It really looks like it is in situ like Phil said...I am about to start my Highland viv....Might have to use that pic as some insperation.....

Actually, the plants are nothing fancy.
Spider plant is what you are seeing with some Broms mixed in.
The larger leaf plant in the lower part of the pic is Anthurium (sp?).

The spider plants grow tall and "reedy" in a viv. That makes them look different than what we are used to seeing in a hanging pot.
The spider plant needs to be thinned out every now and then, but its no big deal. I just hack away with the scissors.
I know spider plants aren't considered a very "chic" plant... but the thumbs love climbing on the long leaves.
And when they jump from leaf to leaf, the leaves spring and sway and they seem to like that.

btw. I have about 6 or 7 Northern/Highland eggs hatching as we speak. hint hint Big Grin

LOL.....I have Highlands and you have one(male I hope?) for me already.....I am waiting on the Southerns.....I might have toget some of those I really like the look of that a lot.....

Yep... he's calling for a bride every day. Smile
I can try to get a pic of him, but he is pretty shy.
(when ever your ready, no hurry - in cooler weather.)


BTW ...to anyone reading this...I am always looking out for any info on Variabilis natural history. feel free to e/m me or PM me if ya got anything, no matter what.
