Bold Ranitomeya amazonicus ?
#1
Rich Frye recently posted that he has always found vents and amazonicus to be quite shy. Of course i've read/heard it other places too. Rich, when you get around to reading this, did you keep them always in pairs, or as small colonies ? I have read in at least four places that colony living makes them bolder - someone posited that it's because the males compete for female attention.

Anyway, has anyone had experience with keeping pairs(amazonicus or other vents) which were bold, or colonies where the frogs still hide a lot ?

Mack,
I had a colony of vents, four amis, and two amis, housed together. Each group acted skittish. The vents were the most outgoing. I never saw the amis.

Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

If tone is more important to you than content, you are at the wrong place.
