I have a 45g breeder style tank I picked up from a pet store that went outta business and I was gonna turn it into a suhweet vertical with the back covered with corkbark and moss in a drip wall setup. Now my question is; are Tricolors arboreal ? I also understand that they are pretty comfortable in groups and tend to prefer running water. Is that true ? Would they be cool with those digs, ya think?

Why make it vert? Its only problematic, and harder to ensure an unleaky viv, since your thinking water feature. I would only use FCA inserts if i was going to do another vert, its the only way verts are cool in my book. Those are pretty pricey though, and he might not even be taking orders right now. I have not heard that Tricolors would prefer more height than width, but my guess is that they would prefer the floorspace anyway. If you go with a drip wall moss background i have to suggest java moss.
My tricolors are only slightly arboreal as froglets, the adults climb on plants and stuff, but I never see them in the upper 1/3 of the enclosure (and it is only 18" high). I have a great stuff/coco background that has a couple shelves and is pretty easy for them to climb, so there is really no reason why they cannot climb to the top. I really think making a vert tank for tricolors would be a waste of a lot of space. If you want tricolors (They are a great frog, with a killer call) I would go with a cube or horizontal setup.
If you do set it up as a vert, and go with something (amazonicus, imitators) that would utilize the vertical space, you are really going to have to plan your lighting and planting scheme carefully so that the plants at the bottom get enough light.
Big vert enclosures look great and as Jace said, I'd get the front from FCA.

Now I'm changing my plan of putting Tricolors in there.
I'm still gonna go with the vert setup. I think I've got the lighting and door and water all worked out. I would like to get some other frogs in there instead that would utilize the whole tank. Evidently I had the wrong idea about the tricolors. For some reason I kept thinking they were climbers. Oh well. I still have to build it so I have time.
Yeah, Jace, java mos is exactly what I was thinking. Do you know of some other good plants that would be able to grow on such a wet background without rotting?

certain selaginellas, pothos ( i have a pretty cool neon), i have never tried to grow peperomias on drip wall. I would suspect that some begonias would work, I have a plant and Black jungle used to have it on their site i cant find it now. So i cant spell it, Diosera discolor or something its like to be sloppy and it will slowly creep up a wall. I have about 4 of them.
