Walgreens Fogger Setup

For those who are interested in what I've learned from various threads here... here are a few pictures of the home-made ultrasonic cool mist humidifier fogger that I made. winona this should help you "visualize" what I was trying so desperately to describe through words

1. Remove the adjustable vent on top of the humidifier (where the vapor escapes)
2. Remove metal plate and wingnut that comes with the 1-1/2" gasket and push the 6" length of 1/2" PVC through the center opening of the gasket (about halfway).
3. Take PVC + gasket combo and push the gasket into the opening on top of the humidifier until it seals the opening.
4. Place the PVC coupling (smooth end) over the 6" length of 1/2" PVC and press down until the bottom of the coupling hits the gasket.
5. Screw the male thread end of the brass reducer into the PVC coupler (female threaded end - FT).
6. Unscrew the compression nut on the top of the brass reducer and place 3/8" I.D. Vinyl tubing through the nut.
7. Place the compression fitting (loose piece that resembles a thimble) into the end of the tubing behind the compression nut.
8. Place the compression nut (with tube still attached) over the brass reducer and screw tight.
9. Take the very end of the vinyl tubing and place it into the tank... and turn the baby on!!!

Great article. Where did you get the supplies to modify the mister. I have been using the same one for several weeks now with a cork stopper drilled for the tube but your idea seems to work a little better.

Home Depot (or any other hardware store). All of the items were found in the PLUMBING aisle. The one item that you may find difficult to see on the shelf is the rubber gasket. I don't know what the name of it is... but it is a sort of plug. It has a wing nut, metal plate that sandwiches the rubber gasket.

I used a variation on your humidifier idea. I was wondering if I have your permission to show that under this topic. I am working on it right now and will be finished in a couple of weeks.
