Insert any other evil or immoral character - fictional or not, instead of Jack....
Does it matter who is selling the frogs ?
What percentage of people would buy frogs from whoever, whenever, as long as it's animals they liked ?

I purchase from people who answer my questions correctly and promptly. I would have to say I buy only from reputable people. Thanks Rich! ;-)

Very cool Sam - like that answer !....take a wild guess for the whole hobby, though, in general and click the poll.

I think the majority of the hobby doesn't care. As long as people get what they want they will let just about anything slide.

I agree...very sad....but real, I think. That just means we have a lot of work to do.
In the 1980's I was 100% in some of the "Reptile" crowds and they were VERY shifty, sneaky and mostly downright criminal. I still keep up with some of those peeps and most of those niches and it hasn't changed too much.
I DO think that our little niche hobby is a 'decent percent' better than most reptile niches that I know....and I like that. Whenever I get a little disenchanted with some froggers or their activity...I often say to myself....at least it's not ____ reptile niche.

I think youre right in thinking that this hobby is better than most. I also think that there are still a lot of people, not just old old timers, are trying to stay clear of unsavory people that drift in and out of this hobby.
Phil I always admire your optimism, someone needs to take that role and keep us all looking forward in a hopeful manor. Sometimes not my strong point.

I picked 50% and I assumed that those are people who know better but rationalize like crazy when a frog they really want is offerred. There are a lot of frogs that I like and that I cannot have due to cost or legality. But, I also don't have room for all the frogs I like either, so it's pretty simple for me. There are so many legal frogs available from reputable people that I could fill twice the space I have. What's nice is that I don't have to deal with anyone I don't want to. It's strictly a hobby for me and I really don't care if I ever sell another frog. I can certainly be selective about who I buy from. It's great having sites like this to help me know who I can trust. It'd be tough to do all that research myself.

I chose 50% because I am seeing people go for "the best deal" or the "cheapest" price. Me personally. I would rather pay the extra bucks and buy from a reputable breeder who knows where they're frogs are from.

Some a$$clowns still can't resist the allure of free candy...buy two and get one free nonsense. Seriously, if you buy frogs from these people and then realized you got screwed after we all tried to warn you, there's no sympathy from me.
"But, but, but the price was just tooo good to pass up..." you get what you pay for...
and just like the interwebs, no ones giving away $1 IPADS, jacka$$

As the saying goes...'a fool and their money will soon be parted' Maybe all of the clowns you speak off dont have corporate/bank president director positions like you do craig baby yo!!!! maybe some of us love pumilio soo much but cant afford $500/pair so realize $300 is a better route to take and still end up with the same dadgum results?

That's hilarious Sid, glad you made that analogy. Please explain how I'm 'hatin'
But since you brought it up, if I am hating, then you are the Rick James of the frog world, coming into the house and wiping your muddy shoes on our new, white sofa. Its clear you don't know how to act.

Funny you should say that b/c I have sold plenty of cb f1's this year at very reasonable rates, some pairs too. Most of the locales I am working with don't make the boards because I have a list of people who continue to buy up everything I have. I produce healthy animals and handle the transactions honestly, and because of that, many of those people come back to me when they are ready to make their next purchase. I don't want to sound like I'm alone, there are others doing this too. Its a pretty simple formula for success, but apparently its difficult for some to resist ripping people off to make a quick buck.
Also, I haven't seen too many of the new imports selling for $300/pair. IF they are, they likely need qt'd, fecaled and treated, pushing that net price closer to the $400-500 mark. If you're not doing that, you're setting yourself up for big problems.
