Connecticut Hobbyists / Breeders?
Hello all- I'm new to the hobby and was wondering what the scene was like here in CT ? I'd feel more comfortable dealing with local people in the hobby when purchasing specimens, ff cultures and the like. Thanks
There's a good size number of "New England" froggers....dunno about CT, as there is a pretty strict exotic pet law the prohibits darts right ? People still keep them up there, I'm sure they just kind of lay low. You're only a stone's throw away from all the other states right ? Mass ? Have you been to Black Jungle Terrarium Supply located in Mass, yet ?

just googled Danbury may as well be NYC. You should have no trouble finding local fellow hobbyists.

Dart frogs illegal in CT!? Son of a! Seriously?! Wow- that really sucks! Why in the name of God would dart frogs be illegal anywhere?! This must be some archaic law passed before they knew dfs weren't toxic in captivity. Ignorant bureaucrats! Enough ranting I guess. I haven't had the pleasure of visiting Black Forrest- every time I've tried in the past they were closed either because they were working a show or prepping for one. I have ordered plants and such from them in the past though and was always happy with their service and products. They were the ones who inspired me to build my first gs/eco-earth background back in 2006 or so(miserable failure by the way-I used GE black 100% silicone but it had mold/mildew inhibitors. Killed every plant in the tank. Good thing it was a plant only terrarium). I have plans to go to the next Expo in White Plains and I'm pretty sure they're always in attendance. Thanks for the info Phil!
Be sure to go to the "White plains" reptile show...they have one every other month. Lots of frogs and supplies there.
